How do I Join?
Joining is a two step process:
1 Registration: Click register at the top left of the home page. You will then need to provide some basic contact and demographic details including: name, gender, DOB and a password.
2 Profile Survey: After you complete the registration survey, an email will be sent to you to confirm the email address you have provided. Click on the "Profile" link to begin the profile survey. The profile will take about 5 minutes to complete. Questions in the profile survey primarily includes demographic information.

How do I build my profile?
There are a number of optional mini-profile surveys available (you must be logged in for this link to work). The reward for completing each mini-profile is 2 Points. Topics include: cars, finance, medical, mobile phones and travel. Once you have completed a mini-profile, you must wait three months before the same profile may be completed again

How do I login to my account?
Go to the login page and input your email address and password.

I can't remember my password
Click here to retrieve your password. Input your email address and your password will be sent to you.

How do I update my email address and other details?
Update and input your new details here.

How do I complete surveys?
Survey invitations will be sent to the email address you provide. Only the mini-profile surveys can be accessed without an invitation.

Invitations come from the email address: newsurvey@opinionmatters.com.au , do not try to reply to this address. Instead, write to helpdesk@opinionmatters.com.au

How often will survey invitations be sent to me?
The time between surveys can vary. Often researchers will target particular demographics. On average, we hope to send you a survey about once a month.

The Point System
Every time you complete a survey with Opinion Matters you will earn points. This includes the profile survey (to join Opinion Matters) and mini-profiles.
Whenever you earn points, you will be asked to select which type of points you would like credited to your account. The options are Prize Points and Cash Points. NOTE: For some surveys, or on some occasions, only one type of points will be available. This will be indicated to you at the start of the survey.

Each Prize Points equals one prize draw entry in the current prize draw. All Prize Points are cleared at the end of the draw period and used as prize draw entries. Members with Prize Points will be emailed prior to the points being cleared.

Where have my Prize Points gone!
If you had Prize Points last time you looked and now they are gone, your points have most likely been used as draw entries in the current draw. Check the draw dates below.

What are the dates of the current Prize Draws?
Opinion Matters does not have a current prize draw scheduled. A new prize draw will be announced during November 2008. Until the announcement of the next prize draw, any points earned as "Prize Points" will be held in members accounts until the next prize draw is announced. At any time, members may choose to exchange "Prize Points" for "Cash Points" (with the exception of "Prize Points" that have been used to "Double Up" - see below).

Winners will be notified by phone and email. Once the winner is contacted they will be posted on the Rewards page.

How much is each Cash Point worth?
Each point has the value AU$0.10

What is the Minimum Redeemable Amount?
200 Cash Points (AU$20.00) is the minimum amount that may be redeemed for cash or donated to charity.

How do I redeem my Cash Points or Donate to Charity?
If already logged in, you can redeem/donate points here. You must have at least 200 Cash Points in your account to redeem or donate.

The redeeming process is as follows :

1. Login to your account
2. Go to the My Points page
3. Click Redeem Cash Points at bottom right of page
4. You will be prompted for an amount to redeem for cash or donate to charity
5. If redeeming cash, you must provide name and address details
6. A receipt will be emailed to you

In what form will I receive payment?
A cheque will be sent to you in the mail. You will be required to provide name and address details online at the time you redeem your points.

How long will it take for the cheque to arrive after redeeming my points?
Payments are made on a monthly basis. There may as much as 4 to 6 weeks between redeeming your cash and receiving the cheque. On your email receipt you will receive a name and phone number to contact in case of payment delays. Alternatively you can write to helpdesk@opinionmatters.com.au
